Spring and Summer camp offerings

  • Winona 1 "Muggle Trail Mix":  http://www.campsomd.org/Winona1.htm
Winona Teen "Wizard Trail Mix":  http://www.campsomd.org/winonateen.htm

Science try-its/badges/IPs will be attempted.  Junior Wrangler and Teen white water rafting is back.

  • NEW Spring Mini-Camp at Winona "Get in the Game": http://www.campsomd.org/winona_spring.htm  This camp is offered the week before Easter for 3 days.  Even though open to all, Calvert and St. Mary's County public schools are off; Charles Co public schools are in session that week.  Bring-a-Friend camp.

  • NEW Teen Treks "Skills-n-Thrills": http://www.campsomd.org/winonateen-daytreks.htm - A new kind of camp with 1 day adventure treks for girls ages 11-17, dates from Mar-Aug.  First one is March 24.  All counties are off school this day.  Bring-a-Friend.

  • All camps will be advertised in the camp brochure, mailed to registered GS in Jan 2008.  Sneak peak on the above web pages.

Registration

  • Registration is now open for the Spring Mini-Camp and Teen Treks.  Go to the registration pages at the camp website.   Non-GS friends are encouraged to attend both camps.   Other camp registrations open in January.

  • Early bird $5 discount/GS daughter for full-time adult volunteers ends for the Mini-camp on Jan 5.

  • We already have girls registering for the Spring Mini-camp and Teen Treks.  Have you?

  • NEW No email registration attachments this year. You can print the form for your records right after you submit.

  • NEW "Change Data" and "Add a Camp" forms available.  No need to mail your form to us with marked up changes.  No need to do a full registration more than 1 time. Second time just add permissions and new camp data. Secret: If you know you will attend more than one camp, you can hit the back button on your browser and change the camp choice, bus stop, camp fee, etc. and re-submit.  Please don't do this for mistake corrections, as it will register your daughter 2 times.

  • The summer camps, Mini-camp, and Teen Treks make good holiday presents from relatives who can't find that perfect gift.  Give them your camper name/ID, pay links, and amount; they can pay with their own data.  If you let us know, we can email you a notice.

PayPal NEW

  • Pay on-time and quickly!  PayPal is now available for camp fee payments.  This is a new option this year we thought we'd try.  We do pay a small fee for the service.

  • Other options:  mailing a personal check or money order, same as prior years.  You can also mail a bank BillPayer check to us.  Use the camper ID or 9999 as the account # during setup.

  • Both mail and PayPal links are found on the Registration pages.

  • If Waivers (vendor release) are required, they should be faxed/emailed/or mailed to us prior to camp.  This avoids last minute problems, bus delays, and paperwork mix-up on first day of camp.

Adults Needed

  • Adults and Teen Aides are needed at all camps, in all areas, especially the first camp, Spring Mini-camp.  Won't you check it out and volunteer?

  • NEW There may be money available from Council should you decide to work at the spring mini-camp,  If working, no deductibles for children attending camp.  Check the appropriate box on the Adult Registration Form to start the process.
