Bus Rules

The Girl Scouts want to be sure that each camper arrives to and from camp safely. In order to assure this, please review these bus rules with your daughter and any other adult who may be picking up or bringing your daughter to meet the bus.

1. Be prompt! As the adult dropping off and picking up your daughter, please be on time both in the morning and in the afternoon. Remain with your daughter until the bus arrives. Check in with bus monitor so she/he can check attendance and paperwork is in order before bus arrives.

2. When riding the bus, we follow the same rules as on the school bus when riding to and from school. Since we will be on some heavy trafficked roads (interstate/beltway), these rules are important and should be followed.

  • Each camper is to choose a seat and must remain seated in that seat until reaching destination.

  • Everyone should speak in a soft voice at all times on the bus. If there is singing on the bus, it must be in a normal voice not shouting or screaming. If you bring an iPod with ear phone for the bus travel, you are responsible. It must be turned off & stored during the event activity

  • When the bus stops, everyone on the bus must be silent. This is at traffic lights, intersections, and any other time that may be necessary.

  • Since this is a coach bus, it should have a DVD player.  If you want to bring a movie, put your name on it and give to the adult in charge or your advisor. Movies must be G or PG rated.

3. Regardless of where your bus stop is, we do not have permission to enter the buildings or stores at the stops.  Go to the bathroom before you arrive. Bus has a bathroom onboard.

Please note that GSCNC is not responsible for your daughter before or after the scheduled bus times. The bus drivers will do their very best to follow this schedule. Because of the strict schedule that our buses must follow, they cannot wait at each stop for late arrivals in the morning or in the afternoon.  To BE ON TIME is to BE EARLY!
