Spring Day Camp

  • Spring Break Mini-Camp @ Camp Winona "Frosty Blast": March 29-April 1 http://www.campsomd.org/winona_spring.htm - Offered the week before Easter for 4 days this year.  And You still have Good Friday and Easter Monday off.  All county public schools are off this week.  Both registered and non-registered girls are welcome.  Our theme will focus around creatures of the cold and warm treats.   We've booked the ice skating rink and swimming for Juniors and Teens,  Bridging Juniors and Teens have an option of going to a dinner theater on Wednesday.  All we need are your parents to help us, and you!  Tell your troop members.  Bring-a-Friend to camp.  Register early.   Reduced fees for daughters of full time volunteers.

Teen Treks

These will not be advertised in the camp brochure, but we will take Teen Treks through CASP3R or day camps.  www.campsomd.org/casp3r.htmhttp://www.campsomd.org/winonateen-daytreks.htm
Parents and teens (grades 6-12) are eligible for teen treks. Some treks are open to bridging Juniors.  Bring a friend on any event.  Financial assistance and bus transportation are available for all treks.  Registration is now open for the teen treks.  There are deadline dates for all camps.  See web pages and flyers for dates.

  • Teen Trek "Snow Tubing": January 30
Snow tubing at Whitetail Ski Resort.  We are going here this time for something different.  And we listened to your evals.  We're going on a coach bus with bathroom and you have an opportunity to tube either 2 or 4 hrs.   Come as a troop.  Bring-a-Friend for the trip.  Don't miss out on this sliding winter adventure.

  • Teen Trek "Dinner Theater": March 30
Join us on a trip to Toby's dinner theater in Columbia to see Hairspray for an afternoon, all-you-can-eat meal and live show.  Space is limited so register early for this popular show.

  • Teen Trek "White Water Rafting": June 25
Test your skill on a white water raft trip.  Enjoy the thrill and excitement.

Summer Day Camps

  • We will be at Gilbert Run Park all week since resident camp will be in session during our camp week and they won't allow us to come over.

  • Winona 1 - "Making Waves" - June 21-25.  Explore the mysteries of the deep blue sea. Try a week full of water fun with arts/crafts, boating, water games, snacks, and songs!   Juniors can go horse riding 2x this week.

  • Winona Teen - "Splashin' Safari" - June 21-25.  Try swimming, boating, white water rafting (teen adventure 2) or horse riding (teen adventure 1).  Will your unit make the ultimate splash?

Any ideas for any camp?  Send them to us.  winona at campsomd dot org.  Planning makes great camps.

PayPal

  • PayPal is again available for camp fee payments.

  • Pay on-time and quickly with PayPal

  • The camps and Teen Treks make cool holiday or birthday presents from friends and relatives who can't find that perfect gift.  Give them your camper's name, PayPal web link, and program amount; they can pay with their own data.  If you let us know, we can email you a notice when they pay.

Adults and Teens

Dedicated Program Aides (PAs) and adult volunteers make camps what we are.  In addition the number of volunteers is a direct factor in how many campers we can support.  We need your help again this year.  Maybe you can enjoy the fun of camp and help. Ask a parent in your troop to help out.  If you don’t have any experience with Girl Scouts, not a problem. There are plenty of Girl Scout training opportunities available. Come for a day for a specialty, or all week.

  • Adults and Teen Aides are needed for the Spring Mini-camp.   How about your troop helping out?  Need something for your Silver Award project?  Do you like to make crafts? How about singing?  Snacks anyone?  Maybe a unit is best for you so you can see it all.  Won't you check us out and volunteer full or part-time? Troops can help for a day with one activity, a couple of days, or all week.

  • Spring is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to day camp.  Not many bugs, no heat, and we won't have a cook-out (exception maybe the teen unit).

Important Information Regarding Medication at DAY Camp

If you recall the new health policy required that ANY medications that a camper brought to or taken at camp had to be documented on the medical permission form and accompanied by a doctors signature. That will be the case again this year.

We are aware many doctors charge an office visit even if it’s just to have a form signed. Because of that we wanted to make the medical permission form available for you to potentially bring with you for your child’s next doctor visit. See the GSCNC web site for information and form.
