Council brochures
The
2009 Camp Brochure is completed and is posted on the new GSCNC
website

It was mailed to all registered
Girl Scouts. Watch for it and Get Ready for Big
Time Summer Fun!!!!!
If you dont get yours, check the council web site to
download a copy and
check our web page for our camp info. The new brochure contains both
sleep away and day camp offerings.
Register early for best choices!
We are
currently planning activities for the summer day camps. If you have any ideas
or suggestions, email us: winona at campsomd dot org. If you have any
ideas for web page improvement, email that too. We welcome all
suggestions.
Even
though they will have resident camp at Winona this summer, Winona 1 and
Winona Teen will use the property on Tuesday and Wednesday for our day camp
week, with programs guided by the resident
camp counselors.
Adults
The
Program Department and
School
Break Programs Specialist
are holding a Program Aid and Program Kit Training events for teens
interested in learning more about how to lead a station at camp. If you
know teens that would be interested,
give them the
flyer.
Council
still
needs volunteers to help them run some of the training stations at the
Program Aide training in February at Camp Winona!!!!
Know someone who does a great job running songs, crafts, games, etc???
and could devote 2-3 hours to help train teens. PLEASE LET ME
KNOW!!!!!!! See date and place below.
Staffing
Adult Volunteers are needed
for all camps. Reduced fees apply.
There are plenty of Girl Scout training opportunities
available at the Council
training site.
Now is the time to start looking for and sign up for
classes to recertify your specials - First Aide/CPR, archery, lifeguard,
and canoe classes. Also look for level and outdoor trainings from
Council. Places to look:
college course, Red Cross, military bases. We are looking for an
archery instructor.
Teens
Teen Treks
Teens, sign up for the various teen adventure treks at the camp
website. You and a friend can spend a day at camp without really being
at camp. What a concept!
Program Aide
Program Aide (PA) is a
leadership position designed to enable Teen Girl Scouts to share their
interests and experience with younger girls. Are you a Teen Girl Scouts
who would be great as a PA?
Training events for teens interested in learning
more about how to lead a station at camp. If you know teens that would
be interested. More info,

Camp Winona; Hughesville, MD
February 6 to February 7, 2009
6 pm Friday 12 pm Saturday
Winona Teen Camp
A Teen only camp is offered this summer for girls currently in grades 6-12.
It will coincide with the regular Winona 1 day camp (using same buses),
but the program will be slightly different with more travel.
Teen Aides
Aides are needed at the younger Winona day camp, and one or two girls
entering 12th grade for the Teen camp-Teen
Adv-1 units only, depending on enrollment. All Aides will be charged
for special vendor fees for activities the unit does.
AITs
AITs - register with the Winona 1 day camp (younger group).
