On-line registration begins

Apr 18-21:
Spring
Day Camp

June 20-24: Summer Day Camp Winona 1
Winona Teen

Camp brochures will be mailed to each registered Girl Scout in December/January from Council (last year for mailing).  Info for each camp is posted on our web pages and on Council web pages.  Help make sure all of our Girl Scout families know about Day Camp.  Adults are needed to make all camps happen.

Summer Day Camps

  • We will be at Gilbert Run Park all week since resident camp will be in session during our camp week and they won't allow us to come over.

  • Winona 1 - June 20-24.  Try a week full of fun with arts/crafts, sports, snacks, and songs!

  • Winona Teen - June 20-24.  Try crafts, sports, snacks, climbing wall, swimming, and more.  Will your unit make the ultimate adventure?

  • Adults are needed to make this camp happen. Email winona @ campsomd.org

Spring Day Camp

  • Spring Break @ Camp Winona "Treats and Feasts": April 18-21, 2011  Offered the week before Easter for 4 days, while still giving you Good Friday and Easter Monday off.  All county public schools are off this week.  Both registered and non-registered girls are welcome.  Our theme will focus around warm treats and cooking.   Teens will have a cook-off one day.  All we need are your parents to help us, and you!  Tell your troop members.  Bring-a-Friend to camp.  Registration starts online Jan 20.   Reduced fees for daughters of full time volunteers.

  • Adults are needed to make this camp happen.  Email winona @ campsomd.org

Any ideas for any camp?  Send them to us.  winona at campsomd dot org.  Planning makes great camps.

Adults and Teens

Dedicated Program Aides (PAs) and adult volunteers make camps what we are.  The number of volunteers is a direct factor in how many campers we can support.  We need your help again this year.  Maybe you can enjoy the fun of camp and help. Ask a parent in your troop to help out.  If you don’t have any experience with Girl Scouts, not a problem. There are plenty of Girl Scout training opportunities available. Come for a day for a specialty, or all week.

  • Adults and Teen Aides are needed for the Spring and Summer camps.

  • Spring is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to day camp.  Not many bugs, no heat, shorter week, and we are at Camp Winona property.

  • Summer camp is a good time to enjoy the out-of-doors, away from the office.

Registration - NEW

  • All day camp registrations will be on-line at GSCNC website.  Placement will follow afterwards in March/April.  This will pull your data from the GSUSA registration, so less for parent to complete.  Not a GS? Girls may register for camp after first registering with GSUSA.  Process is similar to the sleep away camp registration.

  • Registration will start January 20, 2011, same date as sleep away camps.

  • Pay when you register.  You must use a credit card.  If you have none, maybe troop can use their card and you pay troop via cash/check/mo.  If you meet cancellation requirements, you will get a refund.  If you are not placed, you will get a full refund.

  • Financial assistance still available-apply for this prior to registering for camp. Parent must pay the first 20% of camp fee, same as last year.  Only 1 day camp and 1 sleep-away camp will be accepted, same as last year.

  • Volunteers needed for camp to happen.  Adult health form will be separate.

  • Follow up after placement with permission forms and bus stops.

  • Registrations will still have a date stamp should registrations exceed open spots.

  • Priority given to girls of full time volunteers.

  • No more waiting until last minute or week before camp to register.  The system may not allow it. You should start thinking about camp in January and which one you want to attend.
